Locating Articles in Periodicals

How to locate an article in a periodical (magazine, journal, newspaper) that you find in a  Works Cited List:

1. Identify the title of the periodical

Common mistake: Looking for an article by searching for the title of the article. You must search for the title of the periodical.

 

2. Search for the title of the periodical in the search box under the Journals tab on the Library's homepage.

3. The results of a Journals search will tell you whether or not Hofstra has access to the periodical, the years for which it has access, and the format (online or pint) in which it has access. If Hofstra has access to the periodical in the year you need, The results of a Journals search will give you links to the periodical, allowing you to locate the article
