Although our physical location is closed currently due to the COVID-19 situation, the library provides access to over 90,000 streaming video titles. Holdings can be searched through the online catalog or by using the advanced search box on this page.

During the current situation, we have licensed a lot of additional titles especially from Kanopy and Swank. These are not in the library catalog (as they are temporary licenses) but are browsable in those platforms.

Hofstra University Faculty - please request videos using this form. Submit your film title requests as early as possible - some licenses can be obtained quickly, while others can take weeks or even months to complete.

To search the online catalog via the advanced search box below, use the subject term "streaming video" to limit results to videos accessible online.

For example, selecting the title field dropdown to search for "Blade Runner," with "streaming video" in the subject field, returns the streaming version of Blade Runner.

In-house facilities for the utilization of materials include a screening room, two small-group viewing rooms, and carrels for individual use of all formats represented in the collection.
