American Association for Applied Linguistics

Focuses on applying linguistics to language-related issues such as teaching English as a second language, bilingualism, and adult literacy. It offers research reports on current Center projects and links to a variety of Web sites on topics within its scope.

The Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL)

International Association of Forensic Linguistics (IAFL)

An organization that consists primarily of linguists whose work involves them in the law. Linguistics Society of America (LSA)

Functions as an umbrella professional organization for linguistics in the United States with over 5,000 individual and library members. Language is the official journal of the organization.
