Message from the Dean

Welcome to the Hofstra University Library! 

The Library is a vibrant center of scholarship, research, and creativity, playing an active role in the Hofstra community and preparing students to thrive as lifelong learners. As Dean, I am thrilled to guide the library through an exciting new phase of development, fostering an environment where discovery and innovation flourish.

Located in the iconic Axinn Library building at the heart of Hofstra University's campus, the library serves as a central hub for knowledge and connection. We are excited to host the ongoing renovations within Axinn Library to enhance the student experience, creating modern, flexible spaces that inspire collaboration, creativity, and discovery.

The ninth floor is now open for individual and group study! With eighteen reservable rooms and a variety of seating, the ninth floor is a new space to learn, meet up with classmates, or make a video in our new recording room. It complements the study area on the tenth floor, which was completed last fall. The fourth floor is still under construction and will reopen as the home of the Center for University Advising in early 2026.

To our students, faculty, and the greater Hofstra community, we are here to support your academic and personal growth. Whether you are delving into a research project, exploring new ideas, or seeking a quiet space to study, the library is your home for learning and inspiration.
