How to Search for a Book in the Axinn Library

Women's Studies by its nature is interdisciplinary and books can be found in many areas. Books are organized by the Library of Congress classification system. Below is a list of some of the broad subject headings and call numbers. Circulating books are located on floors 5 through 8. Books in the HQ area are found floor 5.

This Ebsco ebook collection contains 70,000 books that are available to Hofstra faculty and students.

Google Books
According to Google, they have scanned 10 million books. Most of these books are no longer in print. One million are in the public domain.

WorldCat This link opens in a new window
Catalog containing over 54 million records, representing the holdings of thousands of libraries. Items found in WorldCat that are not owned by Axinn Library may be requested through Interlibrary Loan.
