Customizing the Language
What's in Factiva
In addition to the full-text of the Wall Street Journal going back to 1980
Factiva's content is global and multi-lingual
Over 18,000 providers stream content on a daily basis
This includes newswires, newspapers and magazines in various languages
This is a list of the available languages:
Arabic
Bahasa Indonesia
Bahasa Melayu
Bulgarian
C
atalan
Chinese - Simplified
Chinese - Traditional
Czech
Danish

English

How to Find News in Other Languages
Start of the Library Homepage:

On the left, on the Discovery tab, click on the
Browse the A-Z list of databases
link.
Click on "F" and scroll to Factiva
Note that there is a limit of 6 simultaneous users for Factiva
Note that if you are prompted for login credentials just close the application and try again in a few minutes
Customize the Search Screen
The default language is set as English
Towards the bottom of the screen on the left side there is a category Language
Note that it is set for English
If you click on Language you will see a list of available languages
Click on a language and note that it will now appear with an X next to it
To remove a language click on the X
In the Free Text Search Box at the top of the screen type in the word(s) that you want to appear in the article
Type them in the selected language(s)
Under the Free Text Search Box, you can adjust the date range for the article
By default this is set to the past 3 months
Click Search and a listing of the articles will appear
Every article in the headline listing can be downloaded or printed
