Reference

Consulting reference sources is an excellent way to begin your research. The Reference Room is located on the first floor adjacent to the Reference Desk. Here you will find encyclopedias which offer an overview of your topic and often contain relevant biographical material; therefore they are good sources to use to begin research on your designer.  These books frequently contain bibliographies which will lead you to further resources on your topic.  Moreover, reference books may contain excellent images that could be quite useful in your presentations. Reference books cannot be checked out, but articles and images may be scanned using the KIC scanner which is located on the ground floor in the Periodicals Dept.  If you have problems using it, there will be someone to assist you.  Remember, that in addition to printed materials in books and articles, images must be cited as well. So make note of all pertinent information.
