Historical sources in anthropology, which include 19th and early 20th century journals, as well as publications of the Bureau of American Ethnology drrwan from the 19th and early 20th century, are available at Hofstra University and online. They contain information not obtainable elsewhere as well as a rich mine of information for anyone doing research on the history of the discipline of anthropology.

Announcement that after many years the History of Anthropology Newsletter is to be re-launched in 2016 with back issues scanned. It will be posted here when available.
The tab on Smithsonian Materials contains a link to the Biodiversity Heritage site which contains historical publications supported by the Smithsonian Institute. These may be of interest. Print copies of many of those publications are held at Hofstra University.All such items are listed as Government Documents and unless they are cataloged under individual titles with standard Library of Congress call numbers, are presently in storage. Please speak with the Government Documents Librarian, Georgina Martorella, 516-463-4980 to get access.
