If you are a champion of Northwell’s values and want to help continue to make our organization an even better place for our team members, patients and community, team up with your colleagues in one of our Business Employee Resource Groups (BERGs) or Employee Network. BERGs provide opportunities for professional and personal development, community partnership and promoting cultural awareness. BERGs provide an opportunity for team members to focus on a specific business priorities that have a major impact on the communities we serve.

  • Bridges:
    Members are passionate about cultural diversity and embrace relationship-building through understanding and supporting the cultural, spiritual, and ethical values of the communities we serve. Bridges BERG segments include: 

  • Caregiver:
    Members show compassion to colleagues who are caregivers and provide support through sharing available resources and developing a workplace culture that helps ease the responsibilities of caregiving.  

  • Expressions:
    Members consist of individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+, are allies of the LGBTQIA+ community and are passionate about promoting unity and health equity. They promote awareness and inclusion in the workplace and connect the community with services based on their unique healthcare needs.   

  • GreenBERG:
    Members are focused on the environmental impact of Northwell’s operations. They leverage sustainable and socially responsible initiatives in the workplace and in our communities, with a focus on recycling, transportation and energy efficiency.   

  • N-Able
    Members include people with disabilities, caregivers, clinicians, and allies who are advocates and advisors on issues of acceptance, inclusion, and belonging. They share resources and promote inclusive employment, exceptional patient and team member experience, and health equity for people with disabilities.   

  • Veterans and Allies Liaisons of Reintegration (VALOR):
    Members’ ultimate mission is connection, empowerment and engagement. To promote connections among veterans, their family members, and those who support them; empower the military community to utilize Northwell services; and engage individuals in impactful missions that produce positive outcomes.   

  • Women in Healthcare:
    Members are focused on creating a community of support, developing future women leaders at Northwell and advancing health equity and education for women in our communities.   

  • Donate Life: 
    Members help inspire others to give the gift of life through organ, tissue, and eye donation. They provide education on living donation and raise awareness among colleagues and the diverse communities Northwell Health serves to ultimately increase organ donor registrations in New York.
