Criminology: Delinquency and Juvenile Justice: Home

This guide is intended to assist students in the online course CRIM 187C Deliquency and Juvenile Justice access library resources.

Introduction

This guide is for students in the online Criminology course, Delinquency and Juvenile Justice taught by Dr. Christine S. Barrow.

The emphasis in the guide is on electronic resources such as eBooks, scholarly articles which can be downloaded, and electronic encyclopedias in the specific subject matter.

For articles held at Hofstra University only in print use the following link to request that an electronic copy be made and emailed to you; Axinn Library Electronic Article Request Form

OneSearch is available on the University Library's homepage and a link is provided here.  It however does not directly search the Proquest databases which hold the core sociology and criminology journal collection (Proquest Criminal Justice and Sociological Abstracts). It is suggested that you use those databases (see tab for Databases and Electronic Reference) to find core items and then, if necessary, use OneSearch.

OneSearch and the Catalog produce information on books, including electronic books which can be read online once you have logged into MyHofstra. OneSearch produces all types of items (books, journals articles, newspaper articles, etc.) and the Cataloge produces items other than journal articles. Both produce electronic books.
