With Hofstra accounts, users can use SPSS, SAS, and Tableau through PrideDesktop, which virtualizes a desktop that has the software installed. Since the software are not installed locally, data need to be read and written to cloud based storage solution, such as the F drive (a Hofstra drive for storing files) or OneDrive (need to log into Office 365 account on the virtual machine to gain access). Please see the instructions on installing and running PrideDesktop for details.
Please note that installing the Hofstra PrideDesktop app on Northwell device will either require administrative rights to your device or help from the Northwell IT team. It should work directly on a personal non-Northwell device.
After installing VMware Horizon, connect to the server (view.Hoftra.edu) and use your Hofstra employee ID to log in. Both “OpenAccessLab” and “Zab Desktop” have access to IBM SPSS Statistics26, SAS9.4, and Tableau2020.
