How to request books be delivered to your office on campus (for Hofstra faculty)

Using Lexicat to Request Book Delivery

Hofstra Faculty have 2 options for requesting on-campus book delivery. You may complete the Faculty Book Delivery Request form, specifying where exactly on campus you would like the book(s) delivered. Alternately, you can make your requests using the Lexicat online library catalog.

You will need to login to your library account before doing this.  It is a good rule of thumb to always login to your library account before searching the catalog. Log in by entering your name and Hofstra 70* number.

When you are logged in to your library account, you will see a number of options in the bibliographic records for your search results. You will select the "Request" check-mark button.

After you click the Request button, you will be taken to a Request Verification screen, where you can enter any special instructions (for example, you may indicate where you would like the item to be delivered).

Complete your request by clicking the "Request Selected Item" button.

Books will usually be pulled and delivered the following business day. Occasionally the service may take 2 business days.
