About LibGuides

What are LibGuides?

LibGuides are created and maintained by Hofstra University librarians. They provide research sources, strategies, and support to the Hofstra community.
Individual guides cover broad subject areas, specific topics, and general research techniques.

Navigating the LibGuides Home Page

From the home page (http://libguides.hofstra.edu) You can browse the guides by Title, Subject, or Owner.  The default view is by subject, but you find guides created by a certain subject specialist by clicking on "BY OWNER"  or you can switch to the full title list by clicking on "ALL GUIDES."  You have the option of sorting the full title list Alphabetically, by Popularity, or by Most Recent.    Additionally, you can do a keyword search across the guides, if you wish.

Also from the home page, you can access LibAnswers, if you have a specific question that is not addressed in any of the guides.  You can browse the FAQs or submit a question by clicking on the "Ask Us" flag on the right side of the screen:

Printing, Subjects/Tags, and Sharing:

At the bottom of every guide is a footer that includes a link for printing the page, as well as a click-able list of subjects and tags associated with the guide (clicking on a subject/tag will bring you to a list of all guides associated with that subject/tag).  You'll also find sharing options, including email, facebook, etc.:
