Get a book or article Hofstra doesn’t own?
There are two methods by which you can acquire an item that Hofstra does not own.
- You can interlibrary
loan the item (item will be delivered to Hofstra for pickup or delivered electronically?).
- Library Homepage www.Hofstra.edu/Library > Services > Interlibrary Loan
- (or do directly to https://illiad.hofstra.edu/illiad/AXINN/logon.html )
- If you need an
article which another library has in print, most libraries allow the public to
enter and copy materials.
- If you need a book which Hofstra does not have available but another library in Nassau/Suffolk has available for circulation, you can acquire a LILRC Research Loan Program (RLP) card from the Axinn Library Circulation Desk. This card, good for 30 days, will enable you to borrow the book from the other library. You should check the other library’s catalog to see if the book is available.
